On June 24, 2021, at the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring 2022 runway show in Paris, Virgil Abloh debuted a dozen pairs of the Louis Vuitton x Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low.
Unlike the “The 50” Off-White x Nike Dunk Low designs, this Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collaboration has both mid and low-top versions of the famous silhouette in rich shades of Green, Blue, and Brown, with a few White pairs thrown in for good measure.
Offset tongue tags with Louis Vuitton logo, flipped-out tags behind the Swoosh, “AIR” on the midsoles, and extra wording on the laces are all included on each Nike Air Force 1 Low. Louis Vuitton luggage with Nike’s distinctive symbol tag atop the bags will also be part of this range.
“A cultural icon in its own right, the Nike Air Force 1 now functions as an objet d’art indicative of self-generated subcultural provenance,” Vuitton wrote in the exhibition notes, instead of using the term “collaboration.” “Virgil Abloh partners with Nike on bespoke Air Force 1s for Spring-Summer 2022, blending the trainer’s iconic codes with Louis Vuitton emblems and materials in respect to the hip-hop culture that molded him,”
Keep an eye out for further information on the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 partnership in the coming weeks.
